Software FAQs

What operating systems can Primatech software run under?

Primatech software is testing and working under the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 10

Known issues:

Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10

Under Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 the PHAWorks Help capability no longer functions since Microsoft no longer includes the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe). To enable the help for Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, view Microsoft's knowledge based article at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607/en-us. The article provides an option to download the “WinHlp32.exe” file from the Microsoft Download Center.

After you apply the patch, you may see the following error "There was a problem running the macro. (1037)". On the same knowledge based article under "More information for advanced users" Microsoft provides a fix for this issue.

To enable Help for Windows 10, to date Microsoft has not released a patch to allow the help to function. We have found a third party program that does allow Help to run under Windows 10; however, Microsoft did not create it (created by a third party). If you wish to receive the update, please contact Primatech.

Windows 8

Dongle: There is an issue installing the automatic drive in Windows 8. This issues is intermittent and may not affect all users. If you have this error you will receive error 5007.xxxx when trying to run the software. We have resolved the issue in our latest release. Please contact Primatech to get the latest installer.
