Answers to a number of questions relating to Primatech's training services are provided here.

Question: How do I register for a training course or technical briefing?

Answer: There are multiple ways to register for training courses and technical briefings:

  1. For online registration, you may click on the "Register Online" icon shown for any Primatech course or technical briefing. you will then be asked to either login into your Primatech online account with your email and password (if already established) or set up your new Primatech online account. Following your login or setup of a new account, you can then confirm the course or technical briefing you are registering for and the specific offering, and finalize the payment details. You may also go directly to the account login page https://www.primatech.com/account/login to begin your registration.
  2. Print the registration form from the website. Complete all fields including payment information and send it by email to training@primatech.com or fax to +1 614-841-9805.  Alternatively send in the completed registration form by mail to Primatech Inc. at 50 Northwoods Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43235.
  3. Simply call us at +1 614-841-9800 and we will take your registration by phone.

Question: How do I pay for a training course or technical briefing?

Answer: All fees are due prior to the training dates. As a courtesy to our clients, Primatech accepts a variety of payment methods:

  1. Credit card: Primatech accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card. Pay by credit card when registering online, or include your credit card information on the registration form when submitting it to Primatech. You may also call us with your credit card number. We will email you a copy of your credit card receipt.
  2. Wire transfer or ACH direct deposit: Please contact us at training@primatech.com for instructions and information.
  3. Invoice: If an invoice is required, please contact us at training@primatech.com with your request.
  4. Primatech will also accept a check, money order, or other similar types of payments.
  5. Primatech will accept a purchase order from your company if the course fees will be paid prior to the training dates.

Question: Do you offer discounts for training?

Question: What if I need to cancel my registration? Will I get a refund?

Answer: For face-to-face training courses, a 25% cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations less than four (4) weeks prior to the course start date. No refunds can be given for cancellations less than two (2) weeks prior to the course, although substitutions are allowed.

For live-streamed courses and technical briefings, no refunds will be given for cancellations less than (2) weeks prior to the start date.

Question: Where are the face-to-face training courses held?

Answer: As a courtesy and convenience to our clients, Primatech offers face-to-face training courses in a number of major cities across the country and around the world. We do our best to deliver courses in different regions of the country in cities such as Houston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Miami, and San Francisco. For our international clients, face-to-face courses are held in countries such as Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, U.A.E, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

Question: Is an entrance visa required for courses held in international locations?

Answer: Every country has different regulations regarding entering the country to attend a training course. Some countries do require a visa for entry. This is often based on the purpose of the visit and the visitor's country of origin. Primatech will be happy to provide a Letter of Enrollment to support your visa application for any country where you will be attending our training. This letter is not a guarantee of visa issuance and should be used only in support of a visa application for attendance at our training courses.

Question: Who are the training instructors?

Answer: Primatech's training instructors are experts in process safety and risk management, holding an average of twenty to thirty years of experience in process safety. Our instructors also serve as Primatech consultants who conduct numerous PHAs, LOPAs, audits, PSM program development projects, and other projects for Primatech's process industry clients. Therefore, instructors provide attendees with real world experience gained from their project work.

Question: What should I bring to the training?

Answer: For non-software face-to-face training courses, Primatech provides all materials that are needed, including training manuals, reference materials, and classroom supplies. Attendees should not bring their own laptops to the course (unless otherwise specified), as any laptops needed for the workshop sessions within a course will be provided by Primatech. Attendees should consider bringing a sweater or sweatshirt with them in case the course meeting room temperature is cooler than they are used to.

For live-streamed training courses and technical briefings, attendees can join GoToTraining using their web browser (Google Chrome is recommended). Attendees are not required to download any software for live-streamed training courses and technical briefings. Attendees will have an opportunity to download and review course materials prior to the live training sessions.

For software face-to-face training courses, attendees may be required to bring a laptop that has the software installed and working. Contact us at training@primatech.com for additional information on software training courses.

Question: What items are included in the course and technical briefings fees?

Answer: Primatech provides all materials that are needed for each face-to-face course, including training manuals, reference materials, and classroom supplies. In addition to the materials, the face-to-face course fees include breakfast, lunch, and refreshments during the training course. All travel and lodging arrangements are the responsibility of the attendee. Primatech will provide details of the training venue to attendees as early as possible to allow adequate time for travel planning. Transportation, parking, hotel incidentals, internet service, and meals outside of the training course lunch are also the responsibility of the attendee.

For live-streamed training courses and technical briefings, the fee includes the cost of the training as well as the training manual and materials.

Question: Are Continuing Education Units (CEUs) awarded for courses?

Answer: Primatech awards 0.7 CEUs or 7 PDH technical hours for each hour of classroom or live-streamed instruction time. For example, a total of 2.1 CEUs or 21 PDH technical hours are awarded for a 3-day course. Additionally, professional organizations, such as ABIH, have awarded Primatech courses with their own units of points. Please see the individual course descriptions for the points that are awarded.

Attendees are responsible for submitting the CEUs or PDHs to their professional membership organizations for the purpose of maintaining their credential requirements.

Question: Will I receive a certificate for attending a training course?

Answer: Primatech provides certificates of attendance to course attendees provided that attendees attend substantially the entire course. The certificates have regulatory significance in some jurisdictions and Primatech cannot certify someone who has not received the benefit of all the material covered in a training course.

Question: Does Primatech maintain records of my attendance?

Answer: Primatech maintains records of the attendance for every course and tutorial delivered. Attendees, employers, and professional membership organizations may contact us at any time to confirm attendance.

Question: Would Primatech teach a course privately to a group of people at my company's facility?

Answer: Yes. Many of our clients take advantage of the private setting and customized instruction available through Primatech's in-house training. All of face-to-face training courses are available for in-house delivery to a group of attendees, either at your company's facility or at a nearby conference or training center. Live-streamed courses and technical briefings are also available for private, in-house delivery. We work together with our clients to ensure that the attendees receive the same high-quality training that we offer publicly, while making the course cost-effective.
